Where to eat in San Francisco if you're vegan + gluten-free
Ya'll know I've been gluten-free for years, but recently I added vegan to my dietary choices. I don't know if you've noticed, but it's actually not that easy to find restaurants that are both gf AND vegan - seems like most places offer one or the other. So here's a little guide of my favorite restaurants to grab gf/vegan healthy fresh meals in San Francisco.
Lashes with Iris+West
I'm pretty low-maintenance when it comes to beauty, but lash extensions are my one go-to splurge that's 100% worth it! I love lash extensions because they are the one beauty accessory that makes me look like I'm put together without any other makeup on.
NYFW: Fashion with the Stylist LA
Choosing and finding outfits for NYFW can be stressful, so I was super excited to collaborate with the Stylist LA on some of my outfits! If you haven't heard of TSLA, they're an awesome outfit rental spot with locations in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
The LTK wall in SF
Remember when the LIKEtoKNOW.it wall was in SF? No? That’s because it way back in late August (and it’s already gone). Went and loved it, but failed to post about it… until now!
Winter florals: My fave trend this season
Ya'll already know I love floral prints, and they were so in for Fall. So I figured... why not keep it going into winter?
Calistoga Motor Lodge and Spa
During my trip to the Napa Valley Film Fest, I had the incredible opportunity to stay at Calistoga Motor Lodge and Spa! I'd never heard of this hotel before, and the name threw me off a bit, but oh my gosh, it's the cutest, hipster kitsch-iest, comfiest hotel with rooms that are made to look and feel like motorhomes, but in the best possible way.
My first year at Napa Valley Film Fest
Little-known fact about me: I'm not a huge fan of fiction in movies and books. Nor do I drink alcohol. So, Julia, why did you want to go to the Napa Valley Film Fest, you ask? Because: nature, gorgeous venues, documentaries, food presentations, and celebs ... duh.
Museum of Ice Cream, SF
Ya'll must know by now how much I love interactive art, so of course as soon as I heard that the Museum of Ice Cream was coming to SF, I knew I had to go there (duh!). MOIC LA didn't disappoint, and I had a feeling SF would be even better. And ... I was right! Here's a little peek into the experience.
JINS: Glasses while you wait!
I recently discovered an amazing treat in the middle of downtown San Francisco... affordable glasses made while you wait!
Eat Drink SF: Taco Knockdown
Last Thursday we spent the evening tasting special taco creations from 11 different local restaurants, and it was delicious! Many of the restaurants that participated don't have tacos on their actual menus, so it was amazing to see the recipes that the chefs came up with.
Color Factory: An interactive art exhibit in SF
One of my favorite things in the world are interactive art exhibits, so when Color Factory opened up in SF, of course I had to go. As a former Burning-Man-attendee and a lifelong believer in fun and imagination, I find it to be the most amazing experience to step into someone else's creative landscape (how do people come up with this stuff?!).
Best nail salon in SF
This edition of Julia Recommends is ... (drumroll please) ... my nail salon! I usually just go for a pink/nude/grey color, but this week I was feeling extra saucy so I got this adorable (schizophrenic?) mixed canvas kind of deal. Take a look for yourself (and notice that pretty much anything I hold, ever, had to do with boba tea, obvs):
San Francisco: The Mission
My absolute favorite neighborhood in San Francisco (and the one that feels most like home) is the land of endless graffiti and burritos: The Mission.
