JINS: Glasses while you wait!
I recently discovered an amazing treat in the middle of downtown San Francisco... affordable glasses made while you wait!
Usually, getting a pair of glasses is a long journey. You see your optometrist to get an updated prescription, then you go to the store or online to pick your frames, order the glasses, and wait at least a week for them to be made and delivered (usually more like 2-3 weeks).
JINS is a whole other world.
At JINS, you can see a doctor right in the store, pick your frames, and then have them ready for pickup in 30 minutes. There is a robot named KANA (I'm not kidding!) in the middle of the store that makes your glasses while you chill in the comfy seats with a yummy free Purity juice. What! Amazing. They also offer cool things like blue-filter screens (so your eyes don't get fatigued from computers and phones - so necessary!) called JINS SCREEN, magnetic shades that connect to your glasses and look just like cute sunnies (not bulky!), and super high-tech eyewear with sensors that read your body and tell you about your current health via an app (are we in the future?).
I tried on a bunch of pairs...
... and finally decided on...
... dun dun dunnnnn (drumroll please)...
These crystal beauties! My favorite part is that JINS frames are called "Airframes" because they weigh so little. Usually glasses leave welts on my nose and ears and hurt after hours of wear, but not these.
Swoon.
