City Guide: Santa Rosa

While most people go North of SF just for drinking in Napa, there's actually so much more to wine country than that! Santa Rosa is one of my favorite spots, right on the edge of wine country, with so many little towns all around and plenty of delicious food and beautiful sites. They even have a real summer, with hot weather! Check out a few recommendations for the area below.

WHERE TO EAT

Taste of Nepal, 6761 Sebastopol Ave, Sebastopol, CA

This place is SO DELICIOUS. I'd never really heard of Nepalese food, but it's a bit like Burmese or Thai. I love Taste of Nepal because not only is it delicious and authentic, but there are endless gluten-free options, and the actual restaurant inside of an old train! Like, you're literally sitting and eating in a train car inside of Gravenstein Station. Highly recommended, even their take out is amazing.

Guayaki Yerba Mate Cafe, 6782 Sebastopol Ave, Sebastopol, CA

I forgot to take a photo of the actual space, but this is a super chill, super cute cafe withs yerba mate but also yummy smoothies and lunch. Come early though, because they close in the early afternoon.

Where to Stay

The Sandman Hotel, 2146 Cleveland Ave, Santa Rosa, CA

Read the full post about this hotel here, but basically it's AWESOME. It used to be an old motel that has since been redone into a super cute minimalist hipster hotel with a bomb pool house and impeccably designed lounge and rooms. Super affordable, right off the freeway, and a 15-minute drive from wineries, this is the perfect place to stay for a wine country weekend getaway.

Where to Explore

Coyote Family Farm, 3662 Lichau Rd, Penngrove, CA

We were actually staying up north for my friend's wedding, and they held it on the beautiful property of Coyote Family Farm. This space is only a few miles away from city life, but it feels like another world. With their own farm and garden, barn, and plenty of space to explore, this is the perfect spot to get away from it all to camp, hike, and enjoy nature.
